Baltimore Development Corporation and Baltimore Mayor’s Office, in conjunction with the Greater Baltimore Committee (GBC), have recently announced the winners of the 49th Annual Mayor’s Business Recognition Awards. The ceremony honors organizations that have displayed significant leadership and commitment to improving the quality of life in Baltimore City.
The 14 recipients include a diverse range of businesses and organizations, such as B&O Railroad Museum, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, and UnitedHealthcare. To reflect their ongoing commitment to innovation and excellence, GBC revamped the awards program to recognize companies and organizations that exemplify at least one of five categories: economic opportunity, ambassador for the Baltimore region, local investment, supporting safe and vibrant communities, and community redevelopment.
During its May annual meeting following a merger with the Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore, GBC introduced a multiyear agenda aimed at driving collective impact for over 500 businesses and organizations committed to shaping the region’s economic future. The agenda includes twelve initiatives focused on areas such as economic opportunity, transportation infrastructure, and collective impact. These initiatives will help shape Baltimore’s future by promoting sustainable growth and development across all sectors of its economy.
The awards ceremony is scheduled for December 13th at M&T Bank Exchange in France Merrick Performing Arts Center in Baltimore City.
