OpenAI aims to have its video creation tool, Sora, producing films in Hollywood.

OpenAI has recently unveiled Sorayour, a cutting-edge tool that utilizes artificial intelligence to generate videos from text descriptions. Though this technology is not yet widely accessible, the company is eager to collaborate with the Hollywood film industry to demonstrate its benefits.

To showcase the potential of Sorayour, OpenAI has arranged meetings with major film and TV studios, as well as other industry leaders. These meetings are part of a broader initiative to demonstrate the advantages of using this application in entertainment productions.

In addition to these meetings, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has also expressed his interest in the film industry by attending events related to the 2024 Oscars. Furthermore, the company has granted a select group of actors and directors access to Sorayour to test its capabilities firsthand.

While Sorayour and OpenAI are not looking to replace principal photography entirely, they could potentially speed up secondary filming processes and enhance existing visual effects tools. However, it is currently unknown which specific studios or executives will be attending these meetings or when Sorayour will become available for use. There may also be associated costs that must be considered before widespread adoption can occur.
