The Arizona Department of Health Services Maintains National Accreditation

The Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) has once again been granted national accreditation through the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB). This accreditation means that ADHS meets comprehensive national standards for public health practices, demonstrating their commitment to excellence.

Reaccreditation is crucial in ensuring that health departments continue to improve and evolve to better serve their communities. ADHS is among over 400 nationally accredited health departments and has held this distinction since 2017.

Jennie Cunico, the Executive Deputy Director of ADHS, expressed her pride in the department’s unwavering commitment to exceptional standards throughout the state. She also highlighted that ADHS is not the only Arizona health department to hold this accreditation, with health departments in Maricopa, Mohave, Pima, and Yavapai counties as well as the Pascua Yaqui Health Services Division also meeting these high standards.

Holding this accreditation shows a dedication to improving public health practices and providing quality services to the communities they serve.
