The official signing ceremony of the agreement between the Republic of Armenia and the European Union on the status of the EU mission in Armenia took place today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. On the Armenian side, Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan signed the agreement, while on the EU side, Ambassador Vasilis Maragos put pen to paper.
Earlier this month, Hovhannisyan had announced that progress had been made in determining the status of the EU observation mission in Armenia and that an agreement on immunity and privileges for EU observers would be signed soon. “The strengthening and expansion of the EU observation mission is a priority for Yerevan,” he said.
