A 24-year-old Northern Virginia man, Kevin Lopez-Altan, has been arrested and is facing 10 felony charges after committing two heinous acts within a week. On Tuesday, he entered an Annandale business and held a 59-year-old woman captive for several hours, repeatedly raping her despite her attempts to escape. The next day, on Wednesday, he attempted to sexually assault a student on a college campus.

Fairfax County police identified Lopez-Altan as a suspect after investigating the incidents and discovered evidence linking him to the crimes. However, he had fled the scene before police arrived. Despite this setback, authorities were able to track him down and arrest him at Heritage Center on Friday afternoon.

Lopez-Altan’s criminal history includes multiple instances of sexual assault and harassment, making authorities concerned about the possibility of other victims who may not have reported their experiences with him. He is currently being held without bond while awaiting trial on three counts of rape, three counts of forcible sodomy, and abduction with intent to defile.
