Beating the Odds: Vanessa’s Journey from Cancer Survivor to Thriving Against All Odds.

Vanessa, a former competitive swimmer, has faced more challenges in her young life than most. At 23, she survived lymphatic cancer and was later diagnosed with leukemia and stage 3 lung cancer with metastases in the spine and two large tumors in her head. Living in a tiny house by a lake with her boyfriend Sebastian, a police officer, Vanessa is determined to make the most of her remaining time. She recently shaved her head due to the effects of chemotherapy and radiation but still radiates happiness and gratitude for life. Although she experiences fatigue and difficulty focusing due to her brain tumor, Vanessa refuses to let her illness dim her spirits.

Vanessa is planning a final trip with Sebastian along the Silk Road from Europe to Japan in a motorhome. They are raising funds for their “Expedition Hope” through GoFundMe, hoping to make their dream a reality.
