Biden Signs $95 Billion Aid Package for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan as Zelensky Receives Long-Range Missiles

As American President Joe Biden confirmed yesterday at the White House, arms are on their way to Kiev after he signed a $95 billion law for aid and weapons for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. The US Senate approved the package with bipartisan support, giving the green light for the aid.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had been requesting ATACMS long-range missiles from the US, which have already been sent. These missiles have a range of approximately 260 kilometers and have been used twice by Kiev. President Biden emphasized the importance of moving quickly to send the necessary ammunition for air defense, artillery, missile systems, and armored vehicles to Ukraine. He stressed that this aid package is not just an investment in Ukraine’s security but also in Europe’s security and that of the United States.

President Biden also warned of potential consequences if Putin were to attack a NATO ally under Article 5 of the NATO collective defense agreement. Ukrainian President Zelensky expressed his gratitude for the US military aid package, emphasizing the importance of fully implementing the agreements reached between him and President Biden. The aid package has been welcomed by both leaders as a vital step in supporting Ukraine’s defense against Russian aggression.
