In Atlanta, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff recently visited The Gathering Spot in northwest Atlanta to participate in a roundtable discussion on reproductive rights with young voters and members of the group Men 4 Choice. During the discussion, DeVon Lewis expressed concern for his children’s future and the changing landscape of America.
Emhoff’s visit to Atlanta is part of the Biden administration’s efforts to engage with voters in the battleground state. The former President Donald Trump has also visited Atlanta recently, making it a focal point for political engagement.
Prior to his visit to The Gathering Spot, Emhoff spoke with Kamal Grant, owner of Sublime Doughnuts in Midtown, about supporting small business owners. Grant highlighted the challenges faced by small business owners, particularly in the Black community, where access to capital is scarce.
The Biden administration is actively seeking to connect with voters and engage in meaningful discussions on important issues facing the community. Emhoff’s visit comes ahead of President Joe Biden’s upcoming commencement speech at Morehouse College.
