Apple is rumored to introduce a new feature with the iPhone 16 Pro that was first seen on the iPhone 15 models. The color-infused back glass system is said to enhance durability and provide more vibrant colors. According to recent information, the iPhone 16 Pro will come in Space Black, White, Gray, and Rose.

Apple’s color-infusing method has been touted as an “industry first,” creating five beautiful colors by infusing color throughout the back glass. The back glass is strengthened using a dual-ion exchange process, polished with nanocrystalline particles, and etched to create a luxurious matte finish. The aerospace-grade aluminum enclosure of the phone will also feature a contoured edge for added comfort.

If this rumor holds true, it would be a departure from Apple’s usual practice of introducing new features on the Pro models first. Typically, advancements in technology debut on the Pro models and then trickle down to the regular models in subsequent years. In this case, while the color-infusing technique may differ from what was used on the iPhone 15, it may not necessarily be superior.

While there have been several leaks about the colors of the iPhone 16 Pro this year, their accuracy track record is not strong. A separate leak in February 2024 suggested that the phone may come in yellow or cement colors.
