Entrepreneur Launches Glass Blowing Company

In Bowling Green, Kentucky, a new small business has opened its doors to the public. Sweaty Glass, owned by Shane Spickard, is the second of its kind in the state and specializes in the art of glass blowing.

Spickard’s passion for glass blowing began when he attended the Appalachian Center for Craft in Smithville, Tennessee. He fell in love with the art form and has been honing his skills ever since 2019. Now, he has transformed a garage into his own glass-making factory where he creates stunning glass cups, vases, and other decorations using melted glass. Spickard also offers classes for those interested in learning the art of glass blowing.

The process of creating these beautiful glass pieces is intricate and mesmerizing. Spickard starts by heating the glass and adding frit to create unique designs. He then uses various tools to sculpt and shape the piece before placing it in a stove for 12 hours to cool down completely. The final product is a one-of-a-kind piece that will add beauty to any home or office space.

Sweaty Glass is located at 144 W 10th Avenue in Bowling Green and offers classes for anyone interested in learning this fascinating art form. Whether you’re an experienced artist or just starting out, Spickard’s classes will provide you with all the skills you need to create your own stunning works of art using melted glass.
