The lighting upgrade project at Callaway Stadium is now complete, as announced by the Troup County Board of Commissioners. This major improvement involved replacing the outdated original lighting system with a new LED stadium and field lighting system. Funded by SPLOST 6, the upgrade included new foundations, poles, bracket mounting arms, LED lights, light racks and new electrical and control systems.
The new LED lights are a significant improvement for the community, as it’s the first lighting upgrade since 1958. The new lights are brighter and more efficient than the old ones, providing a better visibility on the field and around the stadium with only 4 poles instead of 8. Additionally, the LED lights are expected to help reduce electricity costs during events at the stadium.
One exciting feature of the new LED lights is their ability to blink and change colors, adding a new level of entertainment to the stadium. Overall, this lighting upgrade project represents a major improvement for the community and will enhance the experience for all who attend events at Callaway Stadium.
