Accurate Science: The Moon

On Monday, March 25th, our intern, Alexandra, and her sister Ariana went out with their telescope to capture some amazing pictures of the moon during the lunar eclipse. The photos turned out so well that we used one in the thumbnail for this content. We would like to give a big thanks to Ariana for her fantastic photography skills!

It’s interesting to consider how little we know about the moon. The moon was formed from a collision around 4.5 billion years ago, and it is not the only moon in our solar system. For more information on moons in our solar system, be sure to check out Jeff St. Clair’s upcoming article.

Some discussion questions you may want to ponder are: What do you think the moon is made of? Have you ever seen the moon during the day? If you could travel to the moon, what would you want to bring with you?
