Childbirth Center at Cooper Farms: A Community Commitment to Deliver Quality Services

Cooper Farms has recently donated $50,000 towards the expansion and renovation of Mercer Health’s Childbirth Center. The project aims to provide a safer space for cesarean procedures, additional space for increasing births, an enhanced nursery for unique situations, and continued quality childbirth services for the local community.

The Delivering on a Promise campaign was started last summer by the Walter and Evelyn Braun Family with a $1 million donation. Since then, additional donations totaling over $600,000 have been made to the MED Foundation in support of the project. Deb Hemmelgarn, Director of the MED Foundation and Volunteer Services at Mercer Health emphasizes the importance of adequate funding for the project to ensure its success.

Hemmelgarn highlights the significance of the project as childbirth centers are closing in Ohio and across the nation, but Mercer Health is enhancing its services due to its commitment to the community and community support. With an increasing number of births each year, additional space is required to accommodate demand for childbirth services.

For more information about the project or to discuss a possible donation, individuals can contact Deb Hemmelgarn or Jenni Miller at 419-678-5679 or via email at dhemmelgarn@mercer-health.com or jmiller@mercer-health.com respectively. Additional details about
