The City of Cabot is currently hosting a Small Business Boot Camp that aims to provide education for small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs. These sessions began on September 12 and will run for six weeks. The first session focused on Strategic Planning and Research and was conducted by Nicolas Mayerhoeffer from the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center (ASBTDC). Attendees learned about business creation resources, market analysis, and the one-on-one consulting services offered by ASBTDC.
This week’s session will take place on Tuesday, September 19 at the Cabot Veteran Park Events Center at 6 p.m. The topic of discussion will be funding and finance for new and small businesses. David Hazelip, senior commercial loan officer for First Arkansas Bank and Trust, will provide an overview of different funding options and advice on how to obtain them.
These sessions are free of charge but require advance registration, which can be done by visiting cabotar.gov. At the end of the six-week program, the city will be hosting a business pitch competition similar to Shark Tank on October 24. However, the details of the competition are yet to be announced.
The Small Business Boot Camp is sponsored by Arkansas Money & Politics magazine, ASBTDC, and Pinnacle Advisors. For more information, you can visit the City of Cabot Facebook page.
