CWI’s New Health & Science Building Boosts Collaboration and Centralizes Education

The College of Western Idaho recently held a beam signing event to mark the completion of its new Health & Science building at the Nampa campus. This is the first expansion at the college since it opened in 2007. The Health & Science building will bring together all professors and resources under one roof, centralizing the department and making it easier for students to access everything they need.

Former student Nichelle Boyce, who earned her degree in Surgical Technology from CWI, was excited about the expansion and its benefits for future students. She highlighted how having all professors in one location would make it easier for students to reach out for questions and answers, streamline their learning process, and improve collaboration among them.

The consolidation of the Health & Science department in the new building will provide students with access to all resources in one spot, making it particularly beneficial for those pursuing healthcare careers. The school believes that collaboration is a crucial aspect of student learning and views the health department as a key area for expansion.

Vice Chair Trustee Cherie Buckner-Webb emphasized the urgent need for more healthcare professionals not only in Idaho but globally. CWI is preparing students to meet this demand and serve communities around the world. The new Health & Science building represents a significant step towards meeting this need and providing a centralized and efficient learning environment for students.
