Two small businesses located on Wealthy Street in Grand Rapids, Michigan have been the target of burglaries within a week, causing frustration and disappointment for the local community. Firstly, Wealthy Street Bakery was broken into by masked robbers who attempted to force their way through the front door. However, when they were unable to gain entry, they smashed a side window and left empty-handed as there was no cash left out overnight.
Following this incident, Good Judys Market and Juice Bar, situated near Wealthy Street Bakery, also became the victim of a break-in. A large piece of asphalt was thrown through their glass door, prompting the business to close temporarily while an investigation was carried out. It remains unclear at this time whether anything was taken from Good Judys.
Both businesses expressed their frustration at the break-ins, with the Operations Manager of Wealthy Street Bakery stating that small businesses like theirs do not keep large amounts of cash on hand. The Grand Rapids Police Department is currently investigating both incidents and has not yet determined if they are connected. Residents and businesses in the area are being vigilant and taking precautions to prevent further break-ins.
