Elena Moreno of Angelic Monuments Faces Second-Degree Felony Charge for Theft of Headstones

According to court records, Elena Moreno, owner of Angelic Monuments, was arrested again on new charges. She is currently facing a second-degree felony charge of theft between $30,000 and $150,000.

This recent arrest comes after Moreno was previously taken into custody on March 16 for similar charges. A family had reported that they paid Moreno $8,508.09 for a headstone that was never delivered. Despite citing COVID-19 related delays, Moreno failed to follow through with the headstone delivery when the family attempted to contact her. Several other families who had purchased headstones from Moreno also reported similar issues.

Despite efforts to reach Moreno through email, social media, and visits to her listed businesses and home addresses, she remained unresponsive. A total of 12 individuals came forward to report that they had paid Moreno for headstones that were never received, resulting in a combined total of $40,000 in losses.

Moreno was released on a $35,000 bond after her recent arrest and will await further legal proceedings. KSAT will continue to provide updates on the case as they become available.
