Croatia will be the last direct participant in the European Football Championship after the matches of the last qualifying round on Tuesday, and Monday has three treats in store, in all three groups on the program, the competitors for the second place will play directly.
One of the most exciting matches of these qualifications is taking place in Tirana, where Albania is facing off against Faroe Islands for a spot at the Euros. The national team that finished last seven times in the qualifications for major competitions, and never better than fourth place, is one victory away from qualifying for the final tournament. Despite being ranked only 157th in Fifa ranking, behind other minnow nations such as Andorra, Malta, Gibraltar and San Marino, Moldova has a chance to make history by reaching Europe without play-offs. The bookies give it only an 8.5 percent chance of making it to Euro 2020.
In Olomouc, Czech Republic welcomes Moldova in another crucial match of these qualifications. The Czech Republic needs only a draw to secure their spot at Euro 2020 while Moldova needs a victory to join them there. Another premier placement at European Championship is on the horizon on Sunday in Ljubljana’s Stožice where Slovenia takes on Kazakhstan who has been very much alive during this campaign. The selection of Kazakhstan has achieved six victories out of nine games so far and they have defeated Denmark at home and Northern Ireland twice but they need one more win to qualify for Euros 2020 which will be their first major competition appearance ever.
