The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued an alert regarding a recall of more than 450,000 compact SUVs and pickup trucks by Ford in the United States. This recall affects Ford Bronco Sport SUVs made between 2021 to 2024 and Ford Maverick pickups made between 2022 to 2023, totaling 456,565 units.
Ford has discovered that an undetected low battery charge could lead to a loss of electrical accessories like hazard lights or drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. In response, Ford is taking proactive measures to address the issue promptly and effectively, with safety being a top priority.
Affected owners can visit a Ford dealership to have the problem fixed for free by recalibrating the body control module and power train control modules. Alternatively, customers can utilize Ford’s mobile service and pick-up and delivery options for a fix. Ford plans to mail notification letters to owners by May 13 and can be contacted at 1-866-436-7332. The recall number is 24S24.
