NBC Sports reports Chargers have signed Ben Mason

Fullback Ben Mason, a former Michigan player, has been signed by the Chargers for their upcoming NFL season. During his time at Michigan, Mason showcased his versatility by playing multiple positions such as tight end, defensive lineman, and fullback over the span of four years. He contributed to the team by rushing 37 times for 87 yards and scoring nine touchdowns. In addition to his rushing abilities, Mason also caught a touchdown pass and made 14 tackles during his college career.

Despite being drafted by the Ravens in the third round of the 2021 draft, Mason was unable to secure a spot on the roster. He later had brief stints with the Patriots and Bears before returning to Baltimore and appearing in one game last season. Now, with a fresh start with the Chargers, Mason will have the opportunity to continue his NFL journey under the guidance of his former college coach, Jim Harbaugh.

Harbaugh was thrilled to have Mason on board once again. “Ben is an incredible athlete and a great teammate,” he said. “I’m excited to see him thrive in this league.”

Mason is looking forward to reuniting with Harbaugh and contributing to the success of the Chargers. “Coach Harbaugh is someone I’ve always looked up to,” he said. “I’m grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait to get started.”
