Hitachi Vantara Collaborates with NVIDIA to Advance Artificial Intelligence Innovation

NVIDIA, a global leader in artificial intelligence (AI) solutions, and Hitachi Vantara, a company specializing in data storage, infrastructure, and hybrid cloud management, have announced a partnership to develop new generation AI solutions. This collaboration will result in the creation of a portfolio of products called Hitachi iQ, which aims to streamline the process of generating AI-driven results by combining industry-specific capabilities with existing AI solutions.

The partnership between Hitachi Vantara and NVIDIA is designed to address the challenges faced by businesses as they adopt emerging data-intensive technologies such as generative AI. A recent report from S&P Global Market Intelligence revealed that only a third of respondents believe their companies can consistently handle internal demand for AI workloads. By introducing hybrid cloud-enabled AI capabilities, this partnership aims to accelerate the generation of business insights and overcome these challenges.

Sheila Rohra, CEO of Hitachi Vantara, emphasized the significance of the partnership, highlighting the company’s ability to tap into broad expertise across various industry sectors to support the acceleration of AI-driven digital transformation. This collaboration will merge NVIDIA’s AI leadership with Hitachi Vantara’s expertise in hybrid cloud infrastructure solutions and services to help customers overcome future challenges and establish a solid foundation for data-driven innovation.

Hitachi iQ solutions leverage NVIDIA’s latest AI technologies and Hitachi Vantara’s advanced storage platforms to meet market demands and facilitate the digital transformation of enterprises. Customers will be able to choose from a range of consumption models to ensure optimized performance and a strong return on investment. The first product in the Hitachi iQ portfolio is set to launch in the first quarter of Hitachi’s fiscal year commencing in April 2024. This certified NVIDIA DGX BasePOD solution includes NVIDIA DGX H100 systems and NVIDIA software AI Enterprise, offering an innovative AI architecture for handling complex AI workloads.

Charlie Boyle, vice president of DGX platforms at NVIDIA explained that companies across all industries are establishing AI centers for data intelligence.
