LaDonna Lynn Phelps, a beloved member of the Newton Falls community, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, November 16th, 2023. She was 64 years old. Born to Leon and Lillian Reynolds Garrett in Elberton, Georgia on January 16th, 1959, LaDonna was a devoted Christian who attended Elberton Church of God.

After graduating from Elbert County High School, she pursued her passion for nursing and attended Athens Technical School. Over the next three decades, she worked as a nurse at various facilities before retiring from Victoria House in 2021. In her free time, LaDonna enjoyed crocheting, sewing, baking, playing the piano and painting pictures.

On April 25th, 1995, LaDonna married Walter Phelps and together they raised two sons – Wesley Davis and Tyler Phelps – and one daughter – Julie Davis. She also had three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Sadly, her father Leon passed away before her.

LaDonna’s family is requesting that friends honor her memory by making donations to the ALS Association Northern Ohio chapter in lieu of flowers. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 5-6 p.m., followed by a memorial service at Bernard P. Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls at 6 p.m.
