The recent sale of the IPL’s media rights for $6.2 billion further solidifies India’s financial stronghold in cricket.

India’s financial power puts them ahead of other countries like England and Australia, who are also part of the “big three” of the International Cricket Council (ICC). While their loss in the final may not have been what they hoped for, it does not diminish their influence on and off the pitch.
