Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, has announced new features that give users greater control over what they see on the platform. The hidden words function allows users to personalize their feed by hiding specific content, including in the Search section, other user profiles, and responses to posts.
The company is also working on implementing features like publication archiving to improve the overall user experience. These new features aim to give users more control over their experience on the platform.
Users can now enter words, phrases, and emoticons in the ‘Manage custom words and phrases’ tab to further customize their content preferences. In addition, the platform is testing the ability to silence notifications and connections to posts, as well as controlling mentions.
In the near future, users will be able to choose who mentions them and have the ability to opt-out of being mentioned in posts where they do not wish to appear. With these new features, users can tailor their Instagram experience to better fit their needs and preferences.
