The first Cooperation Forum Space Conference of the States of China, Latin America, and the Caribbean took place in Wuhan. During this conference, agreements were reached on collaborating on lunar and deep universe exploration projects, defending the central role of the United Nations Organization in outer space, and supporting the application of aerospace technologies. The Wuhan Declaration, consisting of seven points, aims to support member countries of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac), including Mexico. It establishes the forum as an information center for sharing solutions in science, technology, applications, education, and training, as well as promoting high-quality debate on space-related topics.
The declaration supports the application of satellite communications, navigation, and Earth observation technologies in various areas such as environmental protection, agriculture, forestry, disaster prevention, and mitigation. It also emphasizes promoting space cooperation between agencies and research institutes participating in consultations on international standards for outer space. Furthermore, it establishes a long-term staff training mechanism to enhance human resources development in this field.
China has already signed cooperation agreements with some countries in the Celac bloc such as Brazil
