Jasmine Wong of Iolani School in Hawaii won the individual championship in the David S. Ishii/HHSAA girls golf championships, becoming the first player from the school to do so. Wong, a senior headed to Gonzaga in the fall, finished with a 74-72-146 overall score to claim the championship. Wong faced tough competition from five other players who shot par or better on the final day of the tournament.
Despite trailing by two shots going into the 18th hole, Wong held on to win even after making a bogey on the par-3 final hole. Nicole Ikeda of Punahou had the best score of the tournament with a 2-under 70, but no player finished in the red on Day 1 of competition. Punahou went on to win their 13th girls team title with a combined score of 13-over 445 over
