The Deputy Mayor of Split, Bojan Ivošević, has filed a misdemeanor report against Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, accusing him of insulting and belittling state bodies, specifically President Zoran Milanović. This move comes after Ivošević himself was fined 700 euros by the police for a similar offense earlier in the month.

Ivošević spoke to police officers trying to prevent the illegal felling of a tree in Glagoljaška Street in Split during which he called them “crazy” and “not normal”. He took to Facebook to inform the public about the misdemeanor report he filed against Prime Minister Plenković. He expressed his dissatisfaction with how the police had handled his own case and stated that he wanted to test if they would respond equally to insults against other state authorities. In his announcement, Ivošević stated his belief that Mayor Ante Balov will act in the same way as in similar cases and issue a misdemeanor order against the Prime Minister for his remarks about the President.
