Saints operating back Jamaal Williams sustained a hamstring injury throughout Monday night’s game and will not be returning to the field in the close to future. Head coach Dennis Allen addressed the injury throughout a press conference on Tuesday, stating that Williams will be out for “some time.” Sadly, Allen did not present a far more precise timeline for his return. With this in thoughts, it is most likely that the Saints will be bringing Tony Jones onto their 53-man roster. Jones has been promoted from the practice squad for the previous two weeks and demonstrated his worth by scoring two touchdowns on Monday evening immediately after Williams left the game. It is crucial to note that Jones was the sole backup for Williams, as Kendre Miller was sidelined due to a hamstring injury. If Miller does not recover in time for the upcoming week, the Saints may well will need to add an additional operating back to their roster alongside Jones. This is particularly important contemplating Alvin Kamara will be serving his final suspension game.
