JMU football has released its spring roster, and three crucial returning players are included. Defensive end Abi Nwabuoku-Okonji and linebacker Taurus Jones, both of whom entered the transfer portal during the offseason, are on the roster. Additionally, Solomon Vanhorse is listed after suffering a season-ending injury in 2023.
The team will benefit greatly from the return of Nwabuoku-Okonji and Jones. Both players demonstrated exceptional promise as starters in their respective positions, with Nwabuoku-Okonji showing potential as a defensive end despite an injury in 2023, while Jones led the JMU in tackles in 2022 and is an All-Sun Belt caliber linebacker when healthy.
Vanhorse, known for his speed and versatility, is also expected to make a significant impact in the upcoming season. He can contribute as a weapon in the return game, as well as a running back and slot receiver.
The team is excited to welcome these key veteran players back and expects them to play important roles in the upcoming season.
