Latvian broker charged in US for exporting aircraft technology to Russia

A Latvian national, Oleg Chistyakov, was taken into custody near Riga and charged by the US with several offenses, including violating the Export Control Reform Act. According to court documents, Chistyakov is accused of collaborating with two American citizens to facilitate the sale of US avionics equipment to customers in Russia. Buyanovsky, his co-conspirator, had already pleaded guilty to the same conspiracy in December 2023.
