LSU Defeats Gold in Fall World Series to Claim Championship

The Purple faced off against the Gold in Game 2 of the LSU Baseball Fall World Series at Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field. The matchup was highly anticipated, and both teams came ready to play. Right-handers Christian Little and Aiden Moffett combined for 10 strikeouts in five innings for the Purple, securing a hard-fought 3-2 win on Sunday. This victory clinched the series for the Purple, who also won Game 1 on Friday night with a score of 2-1.

The reigning National Champion, LSU, has just completed a six-week fall practice period and will open the 2024 season on Friday, February 16 against VMI in Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field. The game is sure to be an exciting start to another successful season for the Tigers.

Little, a senior from St. Louis, Mo., started on the mound for the Purple and allowed no earned runs on two hits with seven strikeouts. Moffett, a sophomore from Mount Olive, Miss., worked the final two innings and gave up no runs on no hits with three strikeouts.
