Lyon College is proud to announce that it will be hosting the Arkansas College Teachers of Economics and Small business (ACTEB) 2023 annual conference on Friday, September 22. The conference will be held in Lyon College’s Small business and Economics constructing in Batesville. This year’s conference is centered about the theme “Entrepreneurship education as a catalyst for neighborhood financial improvement.”
A quantity of esteemed speakers will be presenting at the conference. Tiffany Henry, the vice president of the Arkansas Financial Acceleration Foundation, a subsidiary of Arkansas Capital Corporation, will be sharing her insights. Moreover, Clint O’Neal, the executive director of the Arkansas Financial Improvement Commission, will be speaking at the occasion.
Additionally, there will be a panel discussion at the conference that will be moderated by Crystal Johnson, the chief executive officer of the Batesville Location Chamber of Commerce. This panel will involve Rick Elumbaugh, the mayor of Batesville Mike Claus, an entrepreneur, consultant, and entrepreneurship educator Pam Palermo, the former president of the St. George Location Chamber of Commerce and co-founder of the Women’s Influence Center and Victor Werley, an entrepreneur, managing director of Pinnacle Advisors, and Lyon College alumnus who presently serves as the chair of the Lyon College Board of Trustees.
Dr. Peter Staples, the assistant professor of small business and economics at Lyon College, who also serves as the president of ACTEB, will be the conference host. The conference will function welcoming remarks from Mayor Elumbaugh and Lyon College President Dr. Melissa Taverner.
To kick off the conference, there will be a social and networking occasion held at Lyon College’s Highland Home alumni and events center on the evening of Thursday. This occasion will provide attendees the chance to connect and engage with a single yet another outdoors of the formal sessions.
