Mahomes led a 75-yard drive in overtime that ended with a three-yard touchdown pass to Hardman, giving the Chiefs a 25-22 win over the 49ers. Despite trailing by 10 points in the first half, Mahomes was able to guide the team to victory and cement his legacy as one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history.
This victory marked Mahomes’ third Super Bowl win, and his second against the 49ers. He finished the game with an impressive passing performance, completing 34 out of 46 passes for 333 yards, two touchdowns and an interception on the first drive of the second half. But it wasn’t just his passing that made him stand out; he also made plays with his legs, including an eight-yard run to convert a crucial fourth down and a 19-yard run to convert a third down. By the end of the night, Mahomes had a team-high 66 rushing yards.
As he continues to lead Kansas City into battle next season, Mahomes will be looking to add another Super Bowl title to his name. Given his track record and skill set, it seems almost impossible that anyone would bet against him achieving this historic feat.
