A man named Jamie Chacon, 44, from Petersburg, is being accused of raping and forcibly sodomizing a woman at a Waynesboro business where she worked last summer. The incident is said to have taken place at the Eagle Game Room on West Main Street, which has since closed. According to court records, the assault happened on July 23 in a backroom of the business.
Initially charged with rape in September, Chacon has been in jail ever since. Now, he has been indicted by the Waynesboro grand jury on two additional felony charges of forcible sodomy. Despite this, he remains incarcerated at Middle River Regional Jail in Verona. A two-day jury trial at Waynesboro Circuit Court is scheduled to begin on September 17.
