Mark Ruffalo, the actor who has portrayed Bruce Banner/The Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for many years, has confirmed his return to the franchise in the upcoming film Captain America: Brave New World. During a discussion with the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Ruffalo did not reveal much about his role in the movie, simply stating that “it’s going to be great.”
Despite some details being scarce, it is known that Anthony Mackie will reprise his role as Sam Wilson, aka Captain America, and Harrison Ford will take over the role of Thaddeus Ross following William Hurt’s passing in 2022. Thaddeus Ross has a significant history with Bruce Banner and becomes the Red Hulk in some storylines, leading to speculation about his appearance in the film.
Ruffalo had taken a break from the MCU in recent years, appearing last in Avengers: Endgame in 2019. However, he has remained involved in Marvel projects such as She-Hulk and What If…? He also appeared in non-superhero films. Captain America: Brave New World is set for release on February 14th, 2025 and fans eagerly await more Marvel news like the release of Deadpool and Wolverine’s first trailer.
