Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay thanked linebacker Shaquille Leonard for his contributions to the team, as the latter was waived by the Colts. Leonard took to social media to express his gratitude to the city of Indianapolis and its fans, after six years with the team that saw him accomplish many feats.
A second-round pick in 2018, Leonard won defensive rookie of the year and was named a first-team All-Pro. However, back injuries and a decrease in playing time led to his release from the team. Despite this setback, Leonard remains appreciative of the support he received from Colts fans and expressed his love for the city.
As a free agent, Leonard will now be looking for a new team where he can sign a new contract and continue his career in football.
