The city of Charlotte has launched a new grant program called the Start-Scale-Sustain (S3) grant, aimed at supporting Business District Organizations (BDOs) located within the Corridors of Opportunity. This grant is designed to help these organizations in their efforts to serve local businesses in this area.
To be eligible for the grant, organizations must be a nonprofit with an existing or pending 501(c)3 or 501(c)6 designation. They must also represent at least 10 businesses in the business district they serve and have an active SAM.gov Unique Entity Identifier or fiduciary/fiscal sponsor with a UEI.
Applications for the grant will be accepted until June 14 at 5 p.m. To learn more about the grant program and application guidelines, visit the S3 grant webpage. In addition, a question-and-answer webinar will be held by city staff on May 16 at 11 a.m., where participants can submit questions in advance by emailing corridorsofopportunity@charlottenc.gov and receive a virtual meeting link after registration.
The S3 grant is part of the city’s ongoing efforts to support small businesses and promote economic growth in Charlotte’s Corridors of Opportunity, which are designated areas with high potential for economic development and job creation.
In recent years, Charlotte has been working hard to attract new businesses and talent to these corridors, as well as providing resources and support to help existing businesses thrive. The S3 grant is just one example of this commitment to promoting economic growth and supporting small businesses in Charlotte’s most important districts.
If you are an eligible organization that would like to apply for the Start-Scale-Sustain (S3) grant, visit the S3 grant webpage today to learn more about eligibility criteria, application guidelines, and how you can make your business district organization stand out from the rest!
