New North Charleston Sports Complex Opens to the Public, Boosting Community and Economy

The city of North Charleston celebrated the grand opening of the new North Charleston Sports Complex on Thursday, giving community members access to a modern sports facility in their neighborhood. The city invested $25 million in the project after demolishing the old Danny Jones Athletic Center over a year ago.

Visitors were invited to tour the complex on opening day until 7 p.m., with the tennis courts and roller rinks available for use starting the next day. The full facility officially opens to the public on Monday, offering a wide range of sports and recreational opportunities for the North Charleston community.

Mayor Reggie Burgess expressed gratitude to the citizens for their support and tax dollars that helped make the new sports facility a reality.
