Michigan football recruits another staff member from Ohio State

Sherrone Moore and Michigan football have recently added a new member to their team, Erin Dunston, who was once an Ohio State staffer. Dunston, the sister of Jillian Dunston, a current Michigan basketball assistant, will be taking on the role of director of operations at Michigan. The news was first reported by Spencer Holbrook of Lettermen Row.

Dunston is well-known for her background in recruiting and has served as the director of on-campus recruiting for Ohio State since 2021 before her recent promotion. She has also worked in previous roles at Kansas and Purdue. Recognized as a rising star in personnel and recruiting by On3 in 2022, Dunston seems poised to take on a significant role with the Wolverines.

The move not only strengthens Michigan’s staff but also deals a blow to their archrivals, Ohio State, by luring away a talented individual in Dunston. Moore had mentioned his plans to expand the recruiting department during his introductory press conference, and with the addition of eight analysts and now Dunston, he is certainly following through on that promise. The rivalry between these two schools seems to be as heated as ever.

Ohio State fans are particularly sour towards all things Michigan football lately. Whether it’s the losses or controversies surrounding national championship wins or coaching staff changes or even basketball team acquisitions, anything related to maize and blue has only fueled the rivalry further.

In this new development, it appears that Sherrone Moore’s efforts to expand his recruiting department have been successful with the addition of Erin Dunston. As an experienced recruiter with a background at Ohio State, she brings valuable knowledge and experience to Michigan’s team.

Despite this news adding more fuel to the fire between these two schools’ rivalries, it is clear that both teams are committed to building strong programs that can compete at national levels.

Overall, this move highlights how important recruitment is for any college football program’s success and how critical it is for coaches like Sherrone Moore to build strong staffs capable of attracting top talent from all over the country.
