On March 14, 2024, Central Ohio was hit by tornadoes that caused significant damage. Homes, apartments, and businesses were destroyed, leading to the loss of lives and serious injuries. While the impact was felt across 11 counties in the region, the economic damage in Logan County has been particularly severe. In response to this devastation, Governor DeWine has requested a disaster declaration from the Small Business Administration (SBA) for Logan County.
This declaration would provide crucial support for businesses and homes that were damaged by the tornadoes. Senators Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and J.D. Vance (R-OH) have also joined forces to advocate for this declaration, recognizing the urgent need for assistance in repairing the damage caused by the tornadoes.
In addition to their efforts in Logan County, Senators Brown and Vance have also urged President Biden to issue a FEMA disaster declaration for several other counties in Ohio that were affected by tornadoes.
