Outgoing and New Deputy Health Officer: A Look at Lisa Uganski and Marcia Mansaray’s Journeys with the Ottawa County Department of Public Health.

Lisa Uganski, the current Health Planning and Promotion Manager at the Ottawa County Department of Public Health (OCDPH) in Michigan, has been announced as the new Deputy Health Officer. She will assume the role on June 3rd, succeeding outgoing Deputy Health Officer Marcia Mansaray, who will retire on May 31st.

Mansaray has been with OCDPH for nearly 20 years, starting in 2006 as a health promotion specialist. Throughout her tenure, she held several positions within the department including senior epidemiologist and currently serves as deputy health officer. Mansaray played a key role in leading the department and community through the COVID-19 pandemic.

Uganski has been with OCDPH since 2000 when she started as a registered dietitian and health educator. She expressed excitement about her new opportunity and is dedicated to continuing the department’s efforts to improve the quality of life for Ottawa County residents.

Health Officer Adeline Hambley praised Mansaray for her service and leadership, noting her wisdom, empathy, and grace. Hambley expressed sadness at Mansaray’s retirement but is looking forward to Uganski stepping into the role of deputy health officer. Uganski’s knowledge, expertise, and passion for serving the community will be valuable assets for OCDPH moving forward.
