A theft occurred at a business in Palm Desert, leading to the arrest of two men from the Los Angeles area. Deputies responded to the report of grand theft at a business on the 73000 block of El Paseo and discovered that two men had entered the business, concealed merchandise on themselves, and left without paying. The suspects fled in a white, newer-model Lexus.

The investigation was taken over by the Palm Desert Special Enforcement Team (SET) and the Palm Desert Business District Team (BDT). The suspects were located at a shopping center in La Quinta at around 8:35 p.m., attempting to flee. They were apprehended after a brief pursuit, and both men were booked into the John Benoit Detention Center for grand theft and felony evading.

The stolen items, along with suspected stolen wine bottles and medication, were recovered by deputies from inside the suspects’ vehicle. The investigation is still ongoing, and anyone with information about the theft or the recovered items is urged to contact Deputy Hindiyeh or Deputy Botella at the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station.
