The municipality of Petah Tikva has been granted permission to implement a new noise pollution monitoring system, which will enable municipal inspectors to enforce laws against excessive noise in the city. This system, known as Noize, is installed at major city intersections and will allow inspectors to issue fines for violations such as excessive use of the horn or driving without a muffler.

The decree, which was approved by the Knesset Committee on Justice and Judiciary, aims to combat noise pollution in homes and businesses as well as target drivers. Fines for these violations can be up to 730 shekels, depending on the type of offense. With this new system in place, Petah Tikva hopes to control and reduce noise levels throughout the city.
