Baptist Health Paducah Offers Free Classes for Expecting Parents

In April, Baptist Health Paducah is offering free community classes to support expecting parents. These classes are designed to educate, build confidence and create a sense of community for new parents. The classes will be led by health experts such as Board Certified Lactation Consultant Kim Coram and clinical educators Martha Veatch and Cindy Walker.

During the classes, expecting parents will have the opportunity to learn about the childbirth process by touring mom and baby rooms and Labor and Delivery. They will also cover visitor policies, what to expect once admitted, and answer any questions to help parents feel prepared for delivery. For those interested in breastfeeding, there will be a Breastfeeding Matters class and Kangaroo Club support group led by Coram. The Kangaroo Club will offer a safe space for breastfeeding mothers to share experiences, voice concerns, and encourage one another in their breastfeeding journey.

The classes will take place at Baptist Health Paducah in the Zimmerman NICU Education Room and Maternal Child Unit. Scheduled classes for April include Breastfeeding Matters on April 2 from 6-8 p.m. and April 10 from 12-1 p.m., Childbirth Class on April 9 from 5-7 p.m., and April 20 from 10 a.m.,
