Real Madrid Foundation Takes Football Education to Namibia: Empowering Young Minds with Values and Skills

Real Madrid City recently welcomed a delegation from Namibia, led by Minister of Sport, Youth and National Service Agnes Tjongarero, Namibian Ambassador to France, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Morocco Albertus Aochamub and José Luis Reyero, President of Cadilu Fishing. The purpose of their visit was to present the program of educational football clinics that will be held in Namibia this year.

The clinics are set to take place in four different towns – Keetmanshoop and Gobabis from May 13 to 24 and Opuwo and Eenhana from October 7 to 18. This program is now in its second year and is expected to involve over 1,000 children. Funding for the clinics will come from Cadilu Fishing with support from the Ministries of Sport and Education as well as the Spanish Embassy in Namibia.

Two coaches from the Real Madrid Foundation will travel to Namibia to work with the young participants, providing them with a unique football experience while teaching valuable values through the Foundation’s educational methodology. The ongoing support from the Ministry of Sports and the Spanish Embassy has helped establish these clinics as a recurring program. Further plans include the opening of an Educational Football Programme in September, supported by Cadilu Fishing, to continue promoting sport and education in the country. The proceeds from these activities will benefit socio-sports projects that the Real Madrid Foundation operates in the region for children at risk of exclusion.

The Foundation’s clinics offer children already involved in football an opportunity to improve their skills through specialized training following the organization’s methodology “For a real education: Values and sport.” All clinics are endorsed by Real Madrid Sports Department.
