Red Sox Rising: Rhett Lowder’s Promotion to Double-A Chattanooga Signals Bright Future

Right-handed pitching prospect Rhett Lowder, the first-round draft pick of the Cincinnati Reds in 2023, was recently promoted from High-A Dayton to Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts. Lowder made five impressive starts for the Dragons before his promotion. His professional debut with the Dayton Dragons in April was particularly noteworthy, as he pitched four scoreless innings and allowed only two hits and one walk while striking out five batters. During his time with Dayton, Lowder displayed a 2.49 ERA and 0.947 WHIP in 25 1/3 innings, with six walks, 29 strikeouts, and two home runs allowed.

Lowder’s strong performance earned him a spot on MLB Pipeline’s top 100 list in January, where he debuted at No. 34 and currently sits at No. 30. His promotion coincided with right-handed pitcher Paul Skenes moving up from Triple-A Indianapolis to the Majors. Skenes is set to make his first big-league start against the Chicago Cubs on Saturday at PNC Park.

The news of Lowder’s promotion has generated excitement among Cincinnati fans and baseball enthusiasts alike as they eagerly anticipate his continued success as he climbs through the ranks of the organization.

In addition to Lowder’s promotion, right-handed pitcher Andrew Moore was transferred from Chattanooga to Dayton. Social media reactions to Lowder’s advancement have been overwhelmingly positive, with fans and analysts alike acknowledging his progress and potential in the Reds’ farm system.

As a result of his impressive performance with Dayton, Rhett Lowder has been promoted to Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts by the Cincinnati Reds organization. After making five starts for the Dragons before being promoted, Lowder showcased an impressive track record during his time in Dayton.

During his time in Dayton, he had a 2.49 ERA and a WHIP of 0.947 in just over twenty innings pitched. Furthermore, he struck out twenty nine batters while allowing just six walks and two home runs.

This exceptional performance earned him a spot on MLB Pipeline’s top one hundred list for prospects in January where he ranked #34 but is now #30 after being promoted to Double-A Chattanooga.

Rhett Lowder has shown immense promise as a prospect since being selected seventh overall in the 2023 draft by Cincinnati Reds organization.

His recent promotion coincides with that of former number one draft pick Paul Skenes who is set to make his first big league start against Chicago Cubs on Saturday at PNC Park.

The excitement surrounding Rhett Lowder’s success has resonated across social media platforms as fans acknowledge his progression through Red’s farm system.
