Are you or your sponsor planning to retire from active duty or the National Guard or Reserve? Learn how to keep or change your TRICARE health plan with TRICARE’s upcoming webinar. On Thursday, May 23, from 4 to 5 p.m. ET, TRICARE is hosting a webinar titled “TRICARE Options in Retirement” to guide you through the process of maintaining your coverage when you retire. To attend, simply join via Microsoft Teams Live a few minutes before start time.

According to Zelly Zim, a senior analyst with TRICARE Policy and Programs at the Defense Health Agency, knowing what steps to take to keep your TRICARE coverage when you retire is crucial. The webinar will provide you with all the information you need to ensure that you don’t have a gap in your health care coverage during retirement. You will also learn about new options for vision and dental coverage available to you after retiring from active duty or the National Guard or Reserve at age 60. These events are both considered Qualifying Life Events (QLEs) by TRICARE, which means that within 90 days of having a QLE, you have the opportunity to make changes to your enrollment in the TRICARE health plan.

Retiring from active duty and retiring from the National Guard or Reserve both qualify as QLEs by TRICARE. This means that within 90 days of having one of these events, you have the opportunity to make changes to your enrollment in the TRICARE health plan. By attending this webinar on May 23rd, you can get ready for retirement and make informed decisions about your health plan options for years ahead.
