Xbox Cloud Gaming now provides PC users with mouse and keyboard support in the preview version, allowing them to enjoy titles such as Fortnite, Doom 64, and Sea of Thieves through the Xbox cloud service on Edge and Chrome browsers, as well as the Xbox app on Windows PC. This feature is only available to users enrolled in the PC Gaming Preview program.
Previously, players had to connect a controller when playing games from the Xbox Cloud Gaming catalog on PC. However, some users prefer using a mouse and keyboard for better control while gaming on a computer. To improve this experience, Xbox began working on adding mouse and keyboard support in March 2022.
Two years later, this feature has been added to select games in the Xbox Cloud Gaming catalog on PC. Users can now seamlessly use a mouse and keyboard to play these games by enabling preview features in their browser and playing games in full-screen mode. Titles such as Fortnite, ARK Survival Evolved, Sea of Thieves, Halo Infinite among others now support these peripherals.
While some games may initially display controller UI elements, they will adapt to mouse and keyboard controls once the player starts using these peripherals. This new feature aims to enhance the gaming experience for players who prefer using a mouse and keyboard on PC.
Xbox continues its commitment to providing accessible gaming experiences for all users by constantly improving its features and services.
