Rise and Fall: Dallas Cowboys Cut Ties with Controversial Martavis Bryant, Ending Another NFL Chapter

In recent news, the Dallas Cowboys have decided to part ways with Martavis Bryant, ending his latest attempt at a comeback in the NFL. Despite signing with the Dallas practice squad last season and being kept on a futures contract, Bryant was unable to secure a spot on the active roster.

The 32-year-old receiver has not played in an NFL game since November 11, 2018, when he was with the Oakland Raiders before their move to Las Vegas. Throughout his career, Bryant has faced multiple suspensions due to substance-abuse violations.

Originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft, Bryant showed promise early on by catching eight touchdowns in 10 games during his rookie year. However, his career has been marred by suspensions, with his first one coming before his second season.

Despite bouncing back in 2015 with a career-high 765 receiving yards after his first suspension, Bryant was then banned for the entire 2016 season. He played one more season with the Steelers before being traded to the Raiders in 2018. Another suspension followed late in the 2018 season.

The Cowboys took a chance on Bryant almost five years after his last suspension, but unfortunately for him, his time in Dallas has come to an end.
