The Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department and the village of Saranac Lake are excited to announce that the 10th annual Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Truck Parade and Tree Lighting will take place on Friday, December 1st from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The event kicks off with a fire truck parade, where area fire departments will gather together in the spirit of unity and collaboration. The parade route will take fire trucks from Broadway to Main Street, with a very special guest – Santa Claus. Children are welcome to join in the festivities and catch a glimpse of Santa as he lights up the tree in Berkeley Green.
Following the parade, the festivities continue with a tree lighting ceremony in Berkeley Green from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. Santa will be center stage as he lights up the tree, accompanied by everyone joining in a festive holiday sing-along with Northern Lights Choir. Warm cookies and hot cocoa will be available next to the bonfire for everyone to enjoy while they sing along with Santa and friends.
Kids will have an opportunity to visit Santa from 7:15 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Saranac Lake Free Library, where children can share their wish-lists with Santa and capture their special moment in photos with him. This event is made possible through collaboration between several valued organizations such as Women’s Civic Chamber, Saranac Lake Free Library, Adirondack Health, and Northern Lights Choir.
Area fire departments, businesses, and organizations are invited to enter a vehicle into the parade by RSVPing to Santa Parade Chair Douglas Peck at 518-891-2414 or westfirefighter17@hotmail.com before December first
